Is there really a mushroom forest in Curacao?

Antwort

Yes, there really is one!
The mushroom forest is located on the coast of Santa Cruz in the west of the island, but under water.
Of course, there are no mushrooms growing in salt water as you know them from our forests in Europe. However, the corals actually look like mushrooms, which is why this underwater landscape was given the name Mushroom Forest.

    Many years ago, Louis Lopez Ramirez, the owner of All West Apartments and Diving, had the idea of creating an underwater attraction and bringing an artificial reef to life. He commissioned a sculpture of Neptune and sank it into the beach’s house reef.

    The underwater god of the sea has since become an example of art come alive.
