What does Dushi Kadushi mean?

Dushi means sweet, lovely or delicious in Papiamentu.

Kadushi is a columnar cactus that grows on Curacao and can be eaten. Dushi Kadushi = delicious cactus. The cactus pulp of the Kadushi cactus is added to the Dushi Kadushi soup and refined with all kinds of spicy ingredients.

A great place to try the soup for yourself is the Old Market in Willemstad, where you can try it at Zus di Plaza, for example, as we did. Enjoy your meal!

    There are also the Hato Caves or Grottoes of Hato. These are a network of limestone caves. They are located opposite Hato airport.

    Perhaps you could take a look at them on your departure day? The planes to Amsterdam don’t usually take off until the evening anyway. From the cave entrance you have an excellent view of the airport, the taxiway and the runway. Worth seeing!

    Typical for all Divi Divis and therefore a distinguishing feature is that all trees face south-west. This is due to the constant trade winds blowing from the north-east.

    The Divi Divi tree is the logo on the tail fins of the island-hopper airline Divi Divi Air. It connects Curacao with the neighboring islands of Aruba and Bonaire.
