The Chichi is the creation of the artist Serena Janet Israel, a Berlin native who came to Curacao at the turn of the millennium and found a new home on the island.

Chichi is the Papiamentu name for big sister, who plays an important role in the Curacao family tradition. Chichi stands for love and care.

    Every time there is a big incoming wave, a fountain shoots up meters high in front of you. The reason for this is an underground hole in the rocks through which seawater is forced.
