You can’t miss the tree as it is painted red at the bottom with eyes on the lower trunk. The roots of the Manzanilla tree represent the tentacles with suckers.
The octopus tree is a good landmark not to miss the approach to the turtle beach.

Playa Piskadó is another name for Playa Grandi in Westpunt. The beach in the west of Curacao is known for its turtles.
Playa Piskadó is Papiamentu for fisherman’s beach.The name says it all: The fishermen throw their catch into the water at the jetty in the morning and late afternoon, and the turtles know this. 😉
