What is special about Playa Santu Pretu?

Playa Santu Pretu has black sand.

Compared to the other beaches on Curacao, the sand here is not snow-white, but dark brown to black. It is somewhat grainy and heats up quite a bit in the sun. It is difficult to walk on barefoot, so if you want to snorkel, park your shoes somewhere near the water or waddle there in fins 😉

The little-visited reef at Playa Santu Pretu is small but beautiful and inviting for snorkeling.

    We recommend Shirley, where you can have your own personal souvenir made in her small atelier in the middle of Punda. Cost in standard size: approx. 25-30 EUR (as of 2022/23). You choose the motif and she does the rest. Joy guaranteed!
